The weather is the nicest when looking out the train window

Have you noticed that during cold winter days, on days when you actually wouldn't like to go out, when you look outside from a window, it might leave a rather enjoyable impression? The reflection of the sun on a building nearby, the setting sun, the way it makes you feel in the morning.

And that's so even if the weather itself is actually cold and not so inviting. Now imagine seeing the same thing from a train window. Everything's the same, except for one thing. Everything's changing, always. Time of the day, the scenery, the reflections, the weather. Looking out of a train window on such a day can be really great. To celebrate this as well as all the other perks of train travel, in 2008 Amtrak started a National Train Day Holiday to promote the advantages of train travel as well as to educate people about the history of trains. Since then the National Train Day has been celebrated every year on the closest Saturday to May 10th. This year the celebrations will be held on May 12.

The spokesperson for the 5th Annual National Train Day is an award-winning actress & philanthropist Rosario Dawson who has a thing or two for trains herself as well.
